Chakra Cards - Leopard and Butterfly
A little while ago I aquired Seena Frost's book Soulcollaging and read it through.
The companion Suit chapter clarified the whole chakra animal thing for me, the point is that the animal helps reflect the state of the chakra and the lessons to learn from it, its how you are in those parts of your life, and needn't be an animal specifically.
As this made sense to me, while the impression I'd had was that it was just that each chakra had an animal guide and we should all find our animal guides because that is a good thing in itself... and I don't really need any more animal guides, thank you (too much shamanics on my way to this point ;) ), I can understand animals/plants/etc as reflections of parts of self, and chakras as a good system to focus on around parts of self, I made a start.
Leopard - Sacral Chakra

Leopard Speaks:
I am the one who touches the sun. I burn with the glow of a thousand stars. I unlock your heart and shine golden. I am the one who walks the knife's edge, I whisper your will in your ear. I climb and descend, balancing perfectly. I choose what is good. Listen to me, I can smell the good things in life, I will lead you to them.
Butterfly - Heart Chakra

Butterfly Speaks:
I am the one who opens to the world. I am vulnerable but I spread my beautiful wings and let it all in.
I am the one who can make the biggest things move with the smallest of motions.
I can open to love, open to life, or close my wings and hide away in fear of being damaged.
I am the one who reflects the beauty of the world and chooses to trust in that beauty, to open up, to fly.
Listen to me as I remind you, gently: Open, open, trust.
***
Butterfly reminds me of the many times I'm reminded in my magical work to let go, to open up.
Leopard, I wrote something for before, but I appear to have let it disappear into the abyss so I wrote something new. There is definitely Will-work here.
Will and Trust.
Several weeks ago I did a reading using the Black Heart Layout from Thorn's book using the cards I've already printed out, In the position that marks 'the key to being free/manifesting Black Heart state/etc' I pulled a card I made to honour the Anderson's, the founders of Feri. So, Feri is my path to Freedom. Fancy having the message be nice and obvious.
(Reading was a bit more complex than that, being as there are elements of love, choice, dedication, forging, synthesis, teaching/learning, opening to GodSelf/GodHerself etc all bound up in that card. But the point still stands.)
